pm | | adidas campus (25th Sep 20 at 3:42am UTC) | | Really, the question is would the Yeezy adidas samba 1 have the sole of the Adidas Jordan 3 or just some crazy sole they designed specifically for the shoe? ÿþWhen non-sneakerheads think about sneaker culture , they think it s all about Jordans and since Nike makes Jordans, that means lots of cash money for the swoosh. In fact, Jordan s sales alone total that of another complete sneaker brand. This is the perfect example of expanding a brand. If we saw Jordan with Adidas, of course Nike would still be successful because of their in-house talent and excellent marketing, but they would not be as big as they are now. ÿþAs Jordan was one of the best players of his time and still reigns as the most decorated player, would his popularity make him sell as well with Adidas?
When it comes to soccer Adidas dominates the game as Nike continues to try to take over that realm of sports also. However, Adidas basketball doesn t attract the most attention. Yes, the Jordan name sake brings a lot of business but the stylish silhouettes keep the customers coming back for more. ÿþNike has nothing short of the best line up of signature athletes and one of adidas football boots the reasons they have that is because when they were kids they wanted to be like Mike. But if Jordan had signed with adidas and did all the things he ended up doing in his career in three stripes, maybe athletes like Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony would have ended up with adidas instead trying to follow His Airness.
Of course, there is no way to know that adidas white shoes this skinny rookie would grow to be one of the greatest players in NBA history, and that was one of the reasons adidas did not want to sign Jordan. Instead, Nike went all in on Jordan and the gamble has certainly paid off. From the tie of the initial partnership, Jordan became Nike s biggest asset. There s no denying that the business of sneakers and culture surrounding would have been different had Jordan got his way and signed with adidas. We also didn t know it, but adidas was also cooking up something to counter Flyknit. We could argue for days if Flyknit or Primeknit is better, but really, we re all winners for having this technology in our lives.
It s really hard to understate just how much Boost has changed adidas. The cushioning mixed adidas black shoes with amazing designs catapulted the three stripes from an afterthought to the topic of discussion among sneakerheads. Yes, Kanye West had a lot to do with that, but let s not underestimate how much that was also because Yeezy Boosts are pretty damn comfy to walk in because of Boost. None of this was going on in 2012 and The U was certainly not an adidas school at the time, but they picked the right moment to make the jump that s for sure. Nike ID, Miadidas, even New Balance offers a custom sneaker ordering process. In a time when it is becoming harder and harder to avoid running into a dude in the same kicks, custom ordering your own can help to renew the feeling of being the only kid on the block with the freshness.
By the way Nike, here are some ideas about how Nike ID could be even better. ÿþThe adidas D Rose 4 launched yesterday and just like clockwork, it is now available now for customization on mi adidas. Used by adidas athletes like Damian Lillard and Tony Allen to create their own custom colorways of the D Rose 3 and 3.5, expect to see plenty more of these this season especially with Derrick Rose primed and ready to lead the Chicago Bulls once more. While the color palette available right now on mi adidas is admittedly limited (you only have three options available for the quarter and they are pretty generic), those who go the mi adidas route can also use a Gold Package which gives the sneaker an elegant look with a gold quarter, overlay and lining.
The D Rose 4 mi adidas also has translucent outsole options for those who want to go for the icy look.
